Here’s what you can do to address this issue: Check the Subtitle Settings: Start by accessing the settings menu of the video player. Look for the subtitle or closed captioning option and ensure that it is turned off. By default, Apple TV uses the best audio format available. If surround sound isn't working, try changing the audio format to Dolby Digital 5.1. To do this, on your Apple TV go to Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format and turn on Change Format. Here you can choose Dolby Digital 5.1 (instead of Use Best Available). Follow the steps outlined above to confirm captions are enabled. If they already are, shut them off, reboot the Roku, and then turn them back on. Don't skip over this step. Even if captions are already enabled, a reboot might be all that's needed to get them to show up. Do this through Settings > System > System restart > Restart. From the home screen, navigate across the top banner to Settings > Subtitles > Off. If the subtitles are still on, make sure they’re turned off in the Accessibility menu, too. Toggle them off by going to Settings > Accessibility > Closed Captions. You can use the Amazon Fire TV app or the Fire TV remote to navigate menus. KaaN2.
